EBYBS Select Teams & League
East Boise Youth Baseball and Softball is starting a new Select baseball league in 2023. We will be forming teams at every age group from 9U to 13/15U to play in this new “Select” league. The teams that we form at EBYBS will play against teams from other leagues around the Treasure Valley this Spring and games will be hosted at Meridian facilities.
If your child will be between the ages of 9 and 15 on or before April 30th, 2023 and would be interested please read below for more details.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
- Prior to the regular rec season assessments, we will run a Select team assessment to identify the best 12 players for each age group.
- Coaches with the help of our committee will make selections following the assessment.
- If selected your child will play the spring season in both select league division as well as the regular spring rec season.
- Season begins before the regular spring rec and will begin March 12th.
- There will be 12-15 games with End of Year tournaments for a potential of 18 games.
- The season ends the weekend before Memorial Day.
PLAYER/FAMILY COMMITMENTS
- Select teams will practice with the their spring rec team as normal and may have additional practices with their select teams. This all depends on how the coach wants to structure his team.
- The games will mostly be played on Sundays, with some possibility of Saturdays.
- Families will pay the regular league registration, with additional cost for uniforms and cost for Spring Select team play.
